Friday Night Lights

Friday Night Lights, directed by Peter Berg, is considered one of the best films about high school football ever made. The movie chronicles the coach and players of a young football team and the city of Odessa, Texas that supports them. The book on which it was based, Friday Night Lights: A Town, a Team, and a Dream, was written by H. G. Bissinger and follows the story of the 1988 Permian High School Panthers football team as they made the run for the state championship. The movie stars Billy Bob Thornton as tough as nails Coach Gary Gaines. Lucas Black plays the young star quarterback.
